On Tuesday, 13 October 2026, the ballroom of 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird filled with exactly that kind of energy, as Prestige Indonesia gathered its 40 Under 40 Class of 2026, together with alumni of the list, for the annual Cocktail & Networking Night. Laxmi Tailors was proud to join the evening as an official event partner, bringing a quiet corner of our bespoke tailor atelier into the heart of Jakarta’s SCBD.

Representing the house on the night was Dalip Shahri, VP Marketing, Brands & Communications at Laxmi Tailors, who welcomed guests to our booth, talked cloth and construction with the honourees, and shared the story of a family atelier that has dressed Jakarta since 1949.

A Night for Indonesia’s Next Generation of Leaders

Prestige Indonesia, the English-language luxury lifestyle magazine published in Jakarta since 2004, compiles its 40 Under 40 list each year to recognise the young founders, executives, creatives and changemakers shaping the country’s future. The Cocktail & Networking Night is where that list comes to life: an evening for honourees, past and present, to meet one another and the brands that share their outlook.

This year’s class was unveiled in Prestige Indonesia’s October 2026 issue, with actress Carmela van der Kruk on the cover, and spans entrepreneurship, the arts, film, culinary innovation, design and beyond.

The evening was hosted by venue partner 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird, alongside partners IdsMED (whose aesthetic brands Rejuran, Obagi Medical and XERF featured on the partner wall), Laxmi, Rifyo and Victoria Arduino, with Glenfiddich and 818 Tequila as official beverages partners. It was a fitting company of names for a room full of people who care about how things are made.

Inside the Laxmi Booth: A Corner of the Atelier

Rather than a stand, we wanted the booth to feel like a room in one of our ateliers. Working with our friends at Rifyo, who furnished the space, we set out a lounge where guests could sit, take their time and handle the cloth for themselves.

At the centre stood a navy double-breasted bespoke suit, flanked by two safari jackets in a textured, linen-look cloth: a reminder that a tailored wardrobe for Jakarta does not have to mean a dark worsted for every occasion. Each garment hung on a Laxmi hanger, ready to be tried on and talked about.

Beside them, a walnut tray of buttons invited guests into the small decisions that make a custom suit personal, while presentation boxes of premium cloth, among them fabrics from Loro Piana, showed the quality of material we cut from every day. Consultation and Measurement on the Spot

Throughout the evening, our team offered one-on-one consultations and took measurements on site. For many honourees, it was the first conversation about a bespoke commission: what the suit is for, how it should sit, which cloth suits their schedule and our weather. In Conversation with Dalip Shahri

Laxmi was one of three brand partners, alongside IdsMED and Rifyo, invited to present to the guests, sharing our heritage and bespoke craftsmanship with the night’s honourees. In a short feature filmed by Prestige Indonesia at our booth, Dalip Shahri introduced the craft Laxmi brought to the evening: a bespoke garment made entirely by hand.

Several conversations at the booth turned, naturally, to weddings. For a groom, a wedding suit or tuxedo is often the most important garment he will ever commission, and it deserves the same care as any boardroom suit. At Laxmi, a wedding commission begins with a consultation on the occasion itself: a morning ceremony or an evening reception, a traditional akad or a black-tie dinner, and the climate of the venue.

From there we draft an individual pattern, guide the choice of cloth and details, and bring the garment to life over a series of fittings. Every Laxmi suit is cut and sewn by tailors trained in the house tradition, and our workshop is capable of fully handmade construction at the highest tier of commission.
