The commission

What we craft for Jakarta weddings

Planning the wardrobe

Two ceremonies, one wardrobe

Many Jakarta weddings run in two parts: a morning akad nikah or church blessing, then an evening reception, sometimes on different days. Each moment asks something different of what you wear.

MorningThe ceremony

Light, calm, considered

A lighter suit or jas, comfortable through a morning akad or church blessing, in tones that sit gently beside the bride's attire.

  • Cream
  • Grey
  • Soft blue
EveningThe reception

Black tie, made to last the night

A tuxedo or dinner jacket with silk-faced lapels, made for ballroom lights, cameras and a long evening on your feet.

  • Black
  • Midnight blue

Both pieces are cut from one pattern drawn to your body, so they fit as a pair and your fittings cover both. Tell us your schedule at the first consultation and we will plan the timeline around it.

Cloth & craft

Ballroom or garden: cloth chosen for the venue

Inside every jacket is the construction Laxmi has refined over three generations: a full-floating horsehair canvas, hand-padded lapels and a soft, natural shoulder. True luxury is measured in patience, and close to 60 hours of handwork go into a single suit.

Ballroom

Air-conditioned and brightly lit, so richer wool and satin-faced tuxedo cloth hold their shape under lights and cameras.

Garden

Lightweight Italian wool and breathable blends that stay comfortable in Jakarta's heat.

  • Loro Piana
  • Dormeuil
  • Holland & Sherry

Our house in Jakarta

Where Laxmi began

In 1949, M. N. Advani opened the first Laxmi shop on Jalan Pecenongan, in the commercial heart of Jakarta. Three generations later, the same street is home to our flagship atelier, and Laxmi has become a cornerstone of Indonesian bespoke tailoring — where Jakarta grooms begin their wedding suits today.

Black tie is part of that tradition. Read how we crafted Joe Taslim's tuxedo for Gold Gala 2026, or discover the full story of our house.

How long does a bespoke wedding suit take in Jakarta?

A bespoke wedding suit takes 4–6 weeks from the first fitting to completion, with 2–3 fitting sessions. We recommend starting at least 2 months before your wedding day.

Where do I start my wedding suit in Jakarta?

Start at our flagship atelier, Laxmi Bespoke Tailors Pecenongan, Jl. Pecenongan No.17B, Gambir, Jakarta Pusat, open Monday to Saturday 09:00–20:00. Wedding consultations are also available at our Laxmi ateliers in Senayan City, Pacific Place, Kemang and Pondok Indah Mall 3.

Can Laxmi make a tuxedo for a black-tie wedding reception?

Yes. We tailor bespoke tuxedos and dinner jackets with peak or shawl lapels and satin facings, in black or midnight blue, cut to stay comfortable through a long evening reception.

Can you dress the groomsmen and both fathers?

Yes. We dress the groom, groomsmen and both fathers as one coordinated set, with an individual fit for each person. Special pricing applies to group orders.

Which fabrics suit a Jakarta wedding?

For an air-conditioned hotel ballroom, richer wool and satin-faced tuxedo cloth hold their shape under lights and cameras. For a garden or outdoor venue, lightweight Italian wool and breathable blends stay comfortable in Jakarta's heat. We carry hundreds of imported fabrics, including Loro Piana, Dormeuil and Holland & Sherry.
