A four-step process that places fit and longevity at the centre of every decision—quiet, timeless tailoring made for the way you live.

STEP 1

Consultation

We begin by understanding your lifestyle, preferences and purpose for the commission.

Discuss occasions, climate, travel and care requirements.
Advise cloth selection by weight, weave and drape.
Recommend silhouettes (soft shoulder, classic chest, lapel width).
Capture measurements and posture notes for balance and comfort.

Allow 30–45 minutes. You’re welcome to bring a favourite garment for reference.

STEP 2

Pattern & Cut

Your cutter drafts a unique pattern that respects your posture and proportions.

Draft front/back with shoulder pitch, scye height and front/back balance.
Canvas and lining choices to match the cloth’s hand.
Pocket placements, lapel shape and buttoning stance confirmed on paper.
Cloth is struck and cut by hand to the paper pattern.

This stage sets the architecture of the garment; precision here means effortless fit later.

STEP 3

Baste Fitting

A first fitting in temporary stitching to refine shape, length and drape.

Check Collar hug, shoulder expression and chest fullness.
Refine waist suppression and skirt balance for clean quarters.
Confirm sleeve length, cuff reveal and trouser break.
Mark alterations directly on the garment for the workroom.

Photos may be taken for the workroom notes; we keep your pattern updated for future orders.

STEP 4

Final Finish

Hand finishing brings everything together for longevity and quiet elegance.

Canvas padded by hand; lapels rolled to a natural curve.
Hand-felled linings; buttonholes cut and sewn by hand where specified.
Horn buttons attached with shanks; bar tacks at stress points.
Final press for clean lines and enduring shape.
